novembre ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- new running thought: Palin is starting to get dragged more through the press. I started thinking that it's not very respectful not to out her as inexperienced -- there's "hands off your dignity hey I'm essentially a moral person" good politics and stuff, but I just have to say Ha! Yay! I'm glad she's a joke right now. Nobody that inexperienced should be pandered to in this way: it's an honor to run for vice president. An absolute honor. People are forgetting this and thinking it's just some little office. No, dude. You're the pinch hitter. You have to be ripe and you have to wait in the wings, not ban books and look good on television. I thought McCain's choice was an absolute insult: here's someone who no one knows. Sure, it's a twisted sign of good faith in an everyman, but you just don't responsibly nominate somebody that green. It was essentially like McCain gave everybody the finger, because he wanted to one-up the democrats and went for some strange PR move. That's nice. Well, what can he say? He's a maverick. Well, maybe he picked Palin not to be the pinch hitter but the fall guy. And what can Palin say? She's just starting to speak out her own thoughts in her speeches; her previous speeches were carefully crafted for her, but now she seems to be adding her own opinions. (To me this seems like something you should have worked through before running for vice president.) "But some McCain camp insiders tell ABC News they simply couldn't put Palin out in front of the media any more than they did because she wasn't ready. The Palin camp is fighting back, arguing that if the McCain campaign had just let Sarah Palin be Sarah Palin, she would have done just fine on her own. The Alaska governor herself has been pushing out on her own against McCain's handlers.

Let the fingerpointing begin! This will be good for the repubs. They need to shake up their opinions a little bit, recognize and respect different working classes without pandering placatingly to them. It's like the republican party is trying to court the working class through all this "Joe the Plumber" bullshit and that's just offensive as all hell to me and I'm not even working class. http://www.typepad.com/t/trackback/2224950/35060051 Listed below are links to weblogs that reference 'The Palin-McCain Conflict' Sarah Palin Continues To Be The Most Disliked Candidate Of The 2008 Election
The election is everywhere; the news even reports little segments about how large the public interest is. Sometimes it feels like America is holding its collective breath. And while I hate being surrounded by uptight people, I'm prouder than ever to be part of a country that seems to prize its individual franchise once again. I wonder how the electoral college will reflect the public's opinions. 2:40 am - 11.03.08 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
