what our absent-minded bodies do when we concentrate.

i like to sit on my legs.
i instinctively set a foot on a chair and fold myself down.
or i'll cross my legs and point and flex the toes of the crossed foot.

i like to rest the arch of one foot against the calf of the other leg as i stand.

she likes to half-squat when she perches on the floor, resting her chin on a bent knee. she plays her fingers over her toes like piano keys, draws her eyebrows downwards and pushes her mouth into a pout.
