power struggles in partnerships

1. "this is the beginning, not the end..."

(i have a question. what is so great about preserving traditional marriage? what does traditional marriage need to be protected from? "nobody wants to discriminate against... gays..."
how is "we, simply put, want to preserve traditional marriage" different from bigotry? that's just an elusive, carefully-worded catch statement about exclusion, masked in conservative jargon.)

2. i respect high-ranking figures who use their powers for good.

("some newspaper commentators have argued that men are also victims, since they sometimes kill themselves after they murder their women." men who kill their wives and then themselves are secondary to the unvoluntarily dead. IE, the women. the women who did not ask to die.)
