novembre ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- without warning today i spent an hour in gridlock on the bay bridge. i was wishing i brought my polaroid because i drove in the farthest left lane, and sat staring through silver scaffolding at the widest section of the bay, tankers and cranes to the left, industry and the occasional sailboat to the right. the random white cap. the sudden burst of vertigo. when i first moved here and the bridge wasn't shoddily retrofitted with low-slung red steel braces, i'd lift my polaroid through the sunroof and point it at the highest parts. i have a collection of these photographs, blurred and beautiful, like giant robots looming over you from the eye of the frame. i promise to update the pictures section of this little diary soon. once i sequester help. sometimes i open it and it feels like i'm caught in a timewarp, which is not necessarily a good thing. 11:58 pm - 01.31.04 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
