novembre ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- a small drunken outing. diane and i walked across the lake to smitty's, voted the east bay's best dive bar (complete with pool, electronic strip poker and skee ball) where i downed two shots of jameson's and chasers. oooh everything is muted and pulled like taffy. syrupy. the bartender talked on the phone and met my eyes when thanking me thrice over for my tips, and even interupted his precious conversation to wave goodbye and ask our names as we left. i don't know if it was skee ball or shuffleboard, actually. perhaps it was neither and there is another game involving a large wooden plank, but there you go. so i'm taffy and the whole microcosym is peaceful, happy birthday evelyn. 12:41 am - 04.30.03 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
