novembre ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- grand old merritt i just walked around the lake with the postal service blasting in my ears and saw three notable sights: -a goose devouring a twinkie. -geeslings. gooslings? i don't know how to spell it but there they were, following their mothers in packs of four or six, waddling on wobbly black webbed feet, their yellow fluff bobbing in the air. that is the sign of spring for me -- when the geese multiply. -and finally, walking past two men on a bench, my eyes catch on the older man's argyle socks. they drift up to his brown plaid scarf and black newsboy hat and then his profile: I SAW THIS EXACT MAN IN A CARTOON. a digital movie by pixar and disney, where he played himself at checkers.
