novembre ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ruth on ruth turns into an asshole on athol the downstairs neighbors are watching a very loud movie. i think they have surround sound because the walls are vibrating with crashes and booms. could be action or a horror, all i can hear is the largest sounds seeping through the floor. it feels like earthquakes or martians landing underneath us. the hundred year old windows are rattling in their frames from the wind. if i shut them, they wouldn't rattle, but this sound is reassuring. old buildings are the best. nooks, crannies and possible ghosts. lara says this building is probably named "ruth" because it used to be on ruth street, across the lake, when it was first built. after about ten or twenty years, the owners moved the entire building, foundation and all, to the other side of lake merritt. it seems like such a big thing to move a building. no wonder everything shakes a little now. 11:33 pm - 03.07.02 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
