novembre ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- la la thursday fall fell. it's windy, chilly, overcast and i love it. today is thursday, an exceptionally long day and i even had free time in-between things, sitting on my hands on steps waiting to see administrators or professors, smoking smiling and waving. everything feels different when you're not rushing around at the last minute; just rushing around in general. today is thursday, an exceptionally long day. i won't get home until around six pm, twelve hours later. six to six, three response papers, one essay, two meetings, three classes, and i even ran into erin at the computer lab. she and i ate lunch together. she's my only friend at mills who i regularly see "on the outside," away from school. we are not used to seeing each other here, in this context. we're used to sitting on porches and talking about grandmothers, hanging out in seedy bars just to play the video games, buying thirty five cent sodas. we didn't talk much, we both had papers due.
