novembre ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- smarmy the television stations are slowly going back to regular programming. i get too much spam asking me to donate to false donation funds. have people no shame? there's a disaster: let's buy out all the american flags in the state of new jersey and steal people's money under the imp that we help people. it is a way of healing, all these patriotic symbols. people are clinging to something old and stoic that makes sense. but its meaning has changed: patriotism was kitsch. and then disaster strikes and suddenly it's the 1950s again. or the early 60s. i watched shag and marvelled at how it seemed unholy to suggest that the president have an affair outside of marraige, that beauty queens won their titles by dancing with a flag. i went to a show last night where a big girl stripped and told us to make change. i danced a lot and whipped my hair around. half the proceeds went to the red cross. i don't know. i don't know. 2:15 pm - 09.16.01 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
